NetBrowser Now Ready for Sale

NetBrowser was accepted! This application uses Bonjour (DNS-SD) to discover and display network services. The first screen shows the browsable network domains. This is usually just one entry -- local. However in some cases I have seen other entries.

Next is a list of all found services in that domain. Well known domains that have been registered with dns-sd.org. Service names starting with an underscore "_" do not have an official entry at dns-sd.org. In the image below, all services are registered with a well known name.

Tapping a service entry will bring up a display of all hosts that registered this service. For instance if multiple hosts allow network sharing of their printers, then they will show up on this display. However in this case there was just one.

Touching the service entry will bring up all info about this service. Including the host IP address and the port that this network service is listening on.

Thats pretty much it. I used this tool to see what is available on the network before bringing out my laptop. Saves a lot of time searching for printers! I also use it to checkout changes to JmDNS, An open source java based DNS-SD application. ENJOY!

Tìoraidh!
